Found this online tonight, thought it was funny. It reminded me of times when I had something important to do (homework, project, etc) , for some reason this always happened. Until i found the solution to that problem, which was buying a mac (its been 1 year since then by the way, and since then the problems have been much simpler to fix.

things i do NOT miss on a Windows BOX; Slow boot times, Blue Screens (now i have a slight chance of getting kernel panic's, it has only happened to me once), Clutter, Viruses, SpyWare, Hackers, Slow Applications, Expensive Applications (mac has a lot of free, powerful applications), Windows Genuine Validation, Windows Activation, BloatWare, Missing Drivers, Cryptic Error Messages, "modified" Apple Operating System Applications, and Themes (vista),

Things that Microsoft Makes that are BETTER ON Mac; Microsoft Office 2008, Halo, Windows media player components (lets windows media video load in Quick time) wow that was a short list, i thought it was longer.

... ok so I have not blogged in a while, i'm sorry i have been busy, hope to blog again soon.

Road Blocks – Ukraine 2008

Well its been about a year since I begun blogging, one of my first posts was about “road blocks? Link Here and I wrote it about problems my family had right before we went to Ukraine, this year what might happen, well for starters there is a massive fire burning close to my family’s home away from home, its like a one time a month short vacation home. (For more info look at the previous post ) that leads into the more immediate problems that my family has experienced here in Miami at our House. Ok to start the list the hot water heater in my closet started leaking all over the floor, and rotted the wood out under it causing my closet to be 1 inch deep in water, now that has all dried and the water heater is outside by the trash (I guess to see if its fixable. If not that’s a very large amount to replace, as it’s a little different than a normal one. Alright number two the clothes dryer stopped working, so we got rid of it and got a new one only to first get sold the wrong model by Brands mart, then the right model was not in stock, and once we got it, guess what it does not work either (this problem has still not been resolved). Ok Number 3 the Clothes washer started leaking today, we pray that it will not break before Ukraine. Number 4 the Dish Washer has a mind of its own, every other load it does not drain, last night it worked we hope it will continue to work . Alright so, Please pray for my family as we prepare to go Ukraine with CF this summer on the Mission trip, my parents and Lawrence will go for 3 weeks, and Gregory and I have been given the opportunity to go for the 4 FULL weeks which is truly amazing we can not wait.
We are no stranger to the “road block’s” as last year we did not get our passports until like the week before we left (were filed well before the trip), and our TV blew up, and my mother was sick if I remember right. This year right at about the same time as last year, these problems just spring up at about the worst possible time (before Ukraine) , as now I have a car and gas has taken off since I started driving, and now my parents have to pay a little more to pay for me (this summer I will begin to work, for gas money). Ukraine has gotten a little more expensive this year please pray for my family in our little hard time, and for an amazing mission trip this summer.

Fire in PalmBay Florida - Pray!

the fire in palm bay florida is getting worse and is growing daily, from what i can see, it it now extremely close to my family's house up there see the attached image. the school across the street was evacuated earlier this week, and flames could be seen across the street in the photos i have seen from that evacuation. this fire has burned thousands of acres of land, and destroyed manny houses, pray that it stays away from the development where my families house is, and pray for the others that have been affected by the fire.

ukraine thoughts & websites

So as we draw closer and closer to leaving for Ukraine, the same sort of things that happened are happing all over. Within the last 2 days at my house the Dryer no longer dry’s, one of the Hot Water Heaters leaks like crazy, the dish washer does not drain, all of this will cost lots of money and that takes away from the money set aside for Ukraine. Pray for my family and the others going on the mission trip.
Starting as soon as I get a chance I am going to publish right away, the photos that I have from Mississippi, and the video’s as well as some things from Ukraine last year that I have not published yet…

This weekend @ Revolution

This weekend started out early Saturday morning going out to buy
chemicals for the pool. So when I got to the Pinecrest HomeDepot to
get big plastic trays (prevent damage to my car) to put the chemicals
in, they don't have the size I wanted, so I got 2 smaller ones. As I
check out, I use the credit card my parents gave me for this, only to
get the transaction declined. Putting it on my card wiped it clean, so
stay tuned... Ok so when I got home I finished tweaking this weekends
keynote so it would be ready before I got there. When I finally got to
the church I got to use my brand new key, which rocked as I did not
have to go find someone to open the door. :-) this weekend Ileana led
worship for the first time, and she did a great job (photos to come
later), ok so Sunday morning had a little rougher start than I wanted
as both cars had a low fuel light on, knowing that I had no money
anywhere, this is a problem, filled my dads van with the lawnmover gas
and we left, Also had no money for the toll's in my car which did had
enough gas. So once we got to CF West Kendall we set up the new light
system and after 2 months of waiting it only worked full on or full
off, meaning we would have more work down the road. Sunday back at CF
PB was much smoother and was a blast, most things ran smoothly. It was
awesome!!!!

This week I have a huge exam on Friday so, I won't be around much
until after that. Please pray for me, ask him to give me the strength
to study hard and pass this exam.

It feels nice to be writing again I enjoy it. Today I wanted to let you know my schedule for the next few weeks. On may 9th I have an AP exam, so in the days before that don’t expect me to write much other than “study, study, study”. After that I have a little while longer until final exams start (first week of June.) I am working continually in my free time on my website (rcrisler.com), and the other website which is first on my list. The Ukraine photo and video web site, I hope to have it looking great and useable by the middle of may. I would like some input on this, for the photo albums should I use HTML or FLASH? Let me know by email (robertcrisler@mac.com) or in the comments section. And for the videos I want you’re opinions as well, should I use Quicktime or Flash? Quicktime looking stunning, and Flash looking like youtube. The websites should be awesome if I finish them this time ☺

Time flies when you don't blog...

Ok so I have this blog that I should write in frequently, right? Well I know I have not recently (unless you count posting my video’s here!) After all a blog is defined as “a Web site on which an individual or group of users produces an ongoing narrative” well I have posted a few posts here and there, but I have never kept up with my blog. I enjoy reading blogs , I read about 10 blogs on a daily basis. With recent advances in Mac OS X I now can keep track of all my blogs with RSS, in my Apple Mail program it’s even easier than ever (check out the screen shot)

Another awesome application that is included with the new iteration of Mac OS X, is spaces. According to apple it “group your application windows and banish clutter completely.” It lets me keep everything open and just move faster among any programs that I may be running at any given time like in this screen shot.

Here I am running iTunes in the bottom right “space”, and Adobe Dreamweaver in the top Right “space” working on a idea for a website from scratch, and in the bottom left “space” my E-Mail is open and running, and in the main space I have iChat open talking to some of my friends. It’s quite useful when you install more than one thing at once because you can have just one thing on your screen at once vs. everything you have open.

Stay tuned I have another blog I am working on, for later this week, maybe 2 if were lucky!!!!

Happy New Year Everyone, today i cut my grass with a Bad-Boy Lawn Mower, that must go 25MPH when cutting it only took me a few Minutes to cut everyones yard, it was a lot of fun. Last night my family and i watched Pirates Of The Caribbean At Worlds End, it was my second time watching it, but it was still a good movie. the Borne Ultimatum was another good movie my brother and i enjoyed.

My MacBook's Back!!!!!!!!!

It’s been a long week with out my MacBook, having to struggle with the only (working) spare computer in my house, which was my old Dell Laptop, and other than the constant crashing of a few programs, and the bigger size, it was all right. One thing i did not get to do before sending my computer in for repair was move all my data over to a drive that windows can open so it messed me up to have all my files on a external drive that only a Mac or a Unix based system can use. The Logic Board (mother board) was fried according to the report, which says that they also replaced my Bottom Half of the case, and Heat-sink (cools the CPU). But all is well now and I’ve got it back, and it works like a charm.

MacBook Broke

so on thanksgiving my MacBook was having a hard time staying connected to an airport network so I had to cold restart like 3 times before I could make it work, giving the uncle the idea that macs stink, once I got it working it was buisnuess as usual. But this morning I got the not so good working macbook out to put windows on so that I could run some games well once I restateed the computer with the windows vista ultimate DVD in it my mac took its last breath and still to this point it will not go beyond the inital gray screen at startup where the apple logo is suppsed to show up but it never does. I have tried everything I read online but nothing works and it's driving me nuts... Tomorrow I hope to go and drop the mac at the store when I get a chance but I'm not able to at the moment. I hope they swap my hardware with other stuff since I'm having soo many problems. But I won't know until I get there.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving is a day when we thank god for all the blessings in our live, i am blessed to have such an amazing family. The food was overwhelming and it was soo good!!! This year i didn't eat more than i did last year i ate a little more than i would on a normal day. I spent time playing Halo, and Unreal with the "guys" before we ate it was a lot of fun. check out the photo of the family eating dinner, and then snacking on some chocolate fondue!!!!

The Last Small Group Of The Year :(

So tonight was the last night for Christ Fellowship's Small Groups until Next year (2008). I think that our small group made some progress, during our last few studies. The guys in mine are great people to get to know, if you were to look at the number of people that attended our small group (11-12 boys) you would find about 10 people attend but we meet at Jeff’s house and so do the girls but they have like 15 every week so before either group begins we share some snacks, and then we have some time for worship together, then its off to our groups. For the next few weeks the students that can go to CF's Dwntwn ( :) hehe) campus will be helping building the revolution room among other things. I hope I get to go and help soon but homework is a killer...

If you have never checked out a small group you should it is an awesome place to meet new friends and learn about god's word the small groups also try to stay in the series' that the church is working on (AskGod, iPray, etc)

This Weekend - Revolution

This weekend started out with trimming trees, and progressed into me sitting down and reinstalling Mac OS 10.4 on my MacBook since iChat's Buddy icons were not showing and my external firewire drive would not "register" when plugged in via firewire, but it will work on USB, so anyway got everything but the External Hard drive to work perfectly in under 1 hour. ".Mac" (dot Mac) made things simple when it asked if I had an account it transferred my latest contacts / email/ addresses / stuff right to my new installation which made things a whole lot easier. Then it was off to church for me to set up for this weekend. When I got there I proceeded as usual to set up the microphones for the band and this week we used a Beta 56a (see bottom of post) as the main vocal microphone and some people commented that its not a vocal microphone, but hey it sounded good and next weekend we look forward to having it back up on stage, on Saturday it was used my Jaime who was playing guitar, and on Sunday Jaime used it while playing the drums to sing with. This weekends worship was lead by both Kinsey and Jaime and it sounded good for the most part. But on Sunday once my good friend David showed me how to use the FX we made it sound even better. This weekend was a very long one since we had the day off from school Monday so what other for me to do then go back to revolution!!! After the Meeting, part of Revolutions media team and I cleaned the stage up and organized all of revolutions media equipment so after getting some good ideas on how to improve I have come to the conclusion that it would all be better if it were secured in place that way it would require less clean up while making things easier to set up. Then I went home for some well deserved naptime :)

The first revolution car show was cool, i enjoyed watching people come check it out, there were some LOUD cars (get it, capital letters = loud) there were some sweet cars and then there was a beater the lone minivan...

Tv Shows & FireFox

So today I finally looked up on wikipedia to see if my favorite TV shows would be affected by the strike that’s currently going on and wouldn’t you know it most all of them are going to start re-runs soon. And 24 might not even air (or I have heard that they might air the original 1994, season, google it). How does this relate to firefox, well it doesn’t, but today I finally looked back and noticed that I have not used Firefox since August 11, 2007.... and I did some quick research and confirmed my initial assumption, that is that Firefox is slower than Safari 2 which I currently have and when I am surfing the web it is a noticeable speed difference, so I might uninstall it its been a nice browser but safari blows it away maybe firefox 3 will be faster....

Oh if you are using a pc, stick with firefox its the best, but on a Mac safari rules.

I originally wanted to blog every day but that didn’t work out too well, as you can see I have not made a post in quite some time. But I got a message the other day on face book from David saying he now has a blog so I decided to try to start mine back up, since I liked working on it when I first started it. So bloggers you can expect maybe two to five posts a week on my blog.

It's Official I Switched

so today August 11, 2007 i got my MacBook its soo awesome!!! Today my cusion went to the apple store and each of us got a MacBook. I absolutey love this thing its much slimmer than any other computer notebook that i have ever seen, its like a rocket its soo fast, it boots from off to Mac Os X in 20 Seconds (power buttion to surfing the web) there is nothing this baby cant do!!!

Update ---> almost done accesorizing it, with things to make it better. so far my desk looks like this; White MacBook, 19in External Display, 1 TerraByte External FireWire Hard Drive, Bluetooth Mighty Mouse, AirPort Extreme (WiFi - N), 300gb External Hard Drive, In Desk iPod dock, iPhone, Speaker System...

Ukraine (I'm Back)

Ukraine was awesome (one of the words most used to describe this trip), god is just so amazing. While I was there I learned a lot, met hundreds of kids. It was truly amazing; did I mention that the food was to die for? I made a journal each day on my iPhone, but when I got back the last day my computer (not the macbook) deleted all of them and I lost every single journal I wrote. But I still have all my pictures, and memories the other part of our missions team is still there just my family and Leslie came back this early...

First full day with my iPhone

Ok so today is Sunday and I'm on the plane to Ukraine so figured that I should finish my blog. So i love this little phone it is so small, and user friendly the phone functions like a dream I’m having fun typing this. I cant wait till I get there I have a long, long flight ahead of me almost like 13 hours. This Morning when I got to church found out that some people messed up some of the equipment , oh well Jesus still loves them and died for them so all I pray is that they find Jesus and never do it again.
